Alice Delores Coleman

Alice Delores Coleman was born on September 11, 1962, in Russ County, Texas, to the parents of Thelma Irene Bradley and Willie Glen Coleman. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she grew up and left an unforgettable mark on everyone she encountered.

Alice was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and attended Job Corps. Her career started at the Census Bureau and Fortis Benefits Insurance Company as an Underwriter and ended in retail sales where she was a favorite amongst colleagues and customers. She was astute, a math wiz, and a true leader. Her most treasured role was being a mother to her beloved daughter, Victoria Wright Coleman, and her grandson, Ja’Kobe Hopkins. Watching Ja’Kobe grow brought Alice immense happiness, the memories and love for him will remain a guiding light in his life.

Alice is preceded in death by her devoted husband Harold Wright, her father Willie Glen Coleman, and her brothers Willie C. Coleman and W.C. Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter, Victoria Wright Coleman (Mike Hopkins Jr); grandson Ja’Kobe Hopkins; siblings, Jurlene Adams; Bernise Coleman; Lindell Coleman; Vera Coleman (Clifford Clarke); Rosetta Coleman; Anthony Coleman; nieces and nephews, Lamont; Tyree; Alicia; LaTonya; EuJohn; Nikki; Brandon; LaKendra; Delecia; Terell; Sheba; Clifford Jr.; Clema; Nylo; Tyrell; LaToya; LaKresha; Antoinette; Antonia; Anthoni; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members, loving friends, and colleagues.

Alice loved to call everyone “Girlfriend!” It was her way of making the people in her life feel special and seen. So, as we celebrate her incredible legacy:

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 07, 2024, at Beacon of Light SDA Church 4841 The Paseo Kansas City, MO 64110. The visitation wil begin at 10:00am, the service will follow at 11:00am. 

Interment: Brooking Cemetery
