Allen Davis Hill Jr.

Allen Davis Hill Jr., 72, of Kansas City, Missouri, transitioned to glory on April 9, 2025. He was born on April 29, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Allen and Florence Hill. He was the eighth of thirteen children.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Sherrie Hill; his daughter, Jeanine Williams; his parents, Allen and Florence Hill; three sisters, Helen Williams, Magann Hobbs, and Rosie Porter; and two brothers, Willie Hill and Anthony Hill Sr.

Allen was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri, School District and graduated from Central High School, Class of 1970. He served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1985. He also played the drums for several gospel groups in the metro area.

Allen accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church for over 26 years, where he served faithfully as a drummer, maintenance worker, and sound booth technician until his health declined.

Allen was united in marriage to Sherrie Hill on December 29, 1971.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Carl Jones (Angela) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Scheronn Scott of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Jamisha Scott of Kansas City, Missouri; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Emma English of Kansas City, Kansas, Maurene Johnson, Irene Von Collins, and Annette Hill, all of Kansas City, Missouri; a host of nieces and nephews with whom he had a devoted relationship; and many other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, Cleveland Ave Baptist Church, 2853 Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, MO 64128. The visitation will begin at 10:00am, the service will follow at 11:00am.
