Alma Deloris Moore

Alma Deloris Jones was born to Chester A. Jones and Marlene Walker on October 30, 1949, in Jena, Louisiana. Both of her parents preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her sister, Jacqueline R. Bailey, and her brother, Tony Jones.

Alma professed Christ at an early age. She attended several churches, where she faithfully served and shared the love of God. She was an active member of Blue Springs Christian Church when her health began to decline.

After relocating to Kansas City, Missouri, she attended the Kansas City Public

School system and earned her diploma from Westport High School in 1967. Soon after, she met and married the love of her life, Eddie Howard Moore, Sr. They lived in holy matrimony for 56 years! Alma was a devoted wife and nurturing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. While raising three boys, she worked as a data entry specialist for many years. After leaving the data entry field, she moved on to hold multiple positions at UPS and retired after more than 30 years of loyal service.

Alma had the funniest sense of humor and was the life of every party. She often hosted family game nights and loved to travel, dance, create arts and crafts, and spend quality time with her family and friends. She owned a small plaque that read, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” (Mae West) Alma was the picture of fun and adventure, and she lived her life to the fullest. She will truly be missed, and her joyous spirit will continue to live in the hearts of those that hold her dear.

Alma leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Eddie Howard Moore, Sr, three children, Eddie, Jr (Pamela) of Kansas City, Missouri, David (Yatasha) of Nolensville, Tennessee, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Missouri, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers, Chester Jones, Jr, Lynn Ray Jones, and Larry Jones, best friend, Sherry Hammond, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
