Andrew Lamont Hampton

Andrew Lamont Hampton was born on January 20, 1987 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lillian Hampton and Terry Palton.
Andrew went to Central and Southeast High Schools and later attended the US Job Crops. He worked for the Kansas Public School district and was currently a Manager at Restaurant Depot.

Although Andrew never married, he was blessed with five children. He enjoyed playing basketball, loved football, and The Kansas City Chiefs was his favorite team. His favorite color was blue. He loved to have a good time with his family and friends. He liked to call himself “DrewDown” but family and friends called him “Cake”, “Carrot”, and “Drewbaby”. He always said he was real G. He was the life of the party. Andrew loved to play cards, too.

Andrew departed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2023. His mother, Lillian Hampton; father, Terry Palton; and nephew, Tommie Lee Collins Jr.; all preceded him in death.

Andrew leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Lillian Kay Hampton, Issac JD Hampton, Leilani Brooks-Jackson, Larissa Yarbrough, and Tasia Yarbrough; siblings, Kawana, Yvonnie, Terry Lee Hampton, and Danielle Jackson; grandpa, Ulesley Palton Sr.; uncles, Ricky (Roslyn), Charles, Otis (Christina), Greg, Milton, and EL Hampton, and Ulesley Palton Jr.; aunties, Frankie (Clayton) Williams, Dorothy (Randy) Johnson, Tanya Palton, and Mavis Palton; nephews, Tovon Collins, Raekwon, Rakim, Ke’onte Braxton, and Jayden Jackson; nieces, LaBrenda Roland, Jaiden Hampton, and Khaila Jackson; great-nephews, Keelan Collins and Tommie Lee Collins III; his children’s mother, Gabrielle Yarbrough; mothers of grandchildren, Anita McAlister and Kay Yarbrough; significant other, Denedra Jackson; best friend, Louis Gatson; Godchildren, CJ Williams, Tanga Pope, Camari McGinnis, Arie Keiana, Akeelah Jackson, and Jada Plaisime, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 24, 2023, visitation will be from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. with services beginning at 10 A.M. at Highland Missionary Baptist Church 2621 Highland Blvd. KCMO 64127
