Arnita Levern Cotton

Arnita Leverne Cotton was born on February 11, 1957, at Kansas City Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, to Audrey Suber and John Weatherspoon.

She attended school in the KCK area and graduated from Wyandotte High School. She pursued some college studies at Kansas City Kansas Community College and devoted her life to helping others—working at various medical facilities such as Baptist, Research, and Providence. More recently, she served at her home church, New Seasons Christian Church, and also worked as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army.

Arnita is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Davis; her parents, Audrey Suber and John Weatherspoon; and her brothers, Alvin Oliver and Rickie Suber.

She leaves to cherish her memory her three loving sons: Jermaine (Chaya), Jason (Jessica), and Jeremy. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Jasmine, Jason Jr., Journie, Jermaine Jr., Jericho, and Omira; her three great-grandchildren; her siblings: Dwayne, Leo Jr., Audie (Darnell), and Leann; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

On this day, the family wishes for you to honor Arnita by remembering her loving spirit. She was always making sure that others were taken care of and that no one felt left out. Think fondly of her infectious laugh, her love of fashion (especially her hats!), and most importantly—her giving nature and the love she held for those she cared about.

Arnita may not have always had an easy life, but she ALWAYS carried a tremendous heart and a loving soul.

A memorial service will be held at New Seasons Christian Church,1907 North 3rd Street Kansas City, Kansas 66101, April 25th, 2025, 10:00AM.
