Bernard E. Williams , a devoted son, brother, uncle, friend and a servant of God, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. Born June 4, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, he lived a life marked by faith, service and warm generosity.
Bernard graduated from Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri before proudly serving his country in the United :States Navy from 1963 to 1967 being honorably discharged. Upon returning home, he embarked on a long and successful career with Old American Insurance Company, from which he later retired. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him to own and operate Munchies Cafe, a beloved community gathering place known for it delicious food and friendly atmosphere.
Beyond his professional life, Bernard's unwavering faith was central to his being. A dedicated member of Redemptorist Catholic Church (Our Lady of Perpetual Help), he selflessly served on the usher board and volunteered at the church pantry for over 25 years, enriching the lives of countless individuals. His daily devotion to Divine Mercy was a testament to his profound faith. He found immense joy in connecting with his loved ones, always checking in to offer support and companionship. Bernard also cherished quieter moments, often enjoying classic movies and westerns.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Anna Williams; and brothers, Michael, Terry and Jesse Williams, all of Kansas City. He is survived by his brother, Carl A. Williams, also of Kansas City; a host of nieces ,nephews, and cousins; and a special friend Leslie Spiegel.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help ( Redemptorist Catholic Church ) located at 3333 Broadway Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri

Interment: Leavenworth National Cemetery
