Betty Louise Brooks was born on May 31, 1951 in Drew County, Arkansas to Rebie Lucille Williams (nee Lambert) and Robert Edward Brooks. She was raised by her maternal grandmother and aunt until her majority.
Ms. Brooks graduated from Drew High School (1970) and education was a lifelong pursuit and she earned her Associates Degree in Accounting along with numerous certificates in office management. She established her career in Kansas City, MO working for American Handcraft, Inc. and BKD, a Missouri accouting firm, before retiring in 2014.
Ms. Brooks enjoyed the company of family and friends, often holding gatherings and parties in her home. Her wry sense of humor was admired and feared. Her grandchildren were a light in her life and she cherished all of them. She was a staunch supporter of various charities and remained independent until a few month's before her passing.
Ms. Brooks was proceeded in death by her parents, her grandmother Reola Lambert, her aunt Theoplas Dee Lambert, her brother James Williams, Jr., cousins Romenetha Hall ( nee Lambert), Thelma Jackson (nee Hutson) and many other loved ones and dear friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Floyd (Nyeesha) Dorch-Brooks and Kimberly Rae Suber; an uncle Ronald Gene Brooks of Milwaukie, WI; siblings Jacqueline Williams of Pine Bluff, AR, Margaret Jean (Saleem) Wiliams-Rasheed of Kansas City, MO, Bonnie Williams of Pine Bluff, AR, Carolyn (James) Riley of White Planes, MA, Judy (Rufus) Hudspeth of Little Rock, AR, Margaret (Kenneth) Rogers of Pine Bluff, AR, Clarence (Brenda) Brooks of Monticello, AR, Errix Dewayne (Ruby) Brooks of Pine Bluff, AR, and Ronnie Lee (Gertrude) Brooks of New Hope, AR, cousins Billy Hogue and Roman Lamber of Kansas City, MO; loving grandchildren including Nia , Cherikee and Floyd Ricky, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends who will miss her dearly.
In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Brooks' body was cremated and a remembrance party will be held at her home on Nov. 28, 2025 from 2PM - 5PM.
