In Loving Memory of Brandon Wasson

October 8, 1991 – April 11, 2025

Brandon Wasson, age 33, of Kansas City, Missouri, departed this life on April 11, 2025. He was born on October 8, 1991, to Yvonne Wasson and James Coppage. Brandon was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend. He shared a rare and unbreakable bond with his fraternal twin sister, Brittany Wasson, who was born just minutes after him.

Brandon was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and went on to earn his GED before continuing his studies at Penn Valley Community College. Throughout his career, he held many diverse roles, but his true passion was cooking. He found joy in the kitchen and especially cherished his time working at Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, where his love for the culinary arts truly came to life.

He was a man of many interests and talents. Brandon had a deep appreciation for music, fashion, fitness, art and comedy. He was known for his sense of style, his lively energy, and his ability to light up any room. He loved spending time with his family and was often known to pop up unannounced, always greeting you with warmth and love. Brandon also shared a special bond with his Coppage cousins, with whom he had a close and meaningful relationship. Their connection was one of genuine love, support, and lasting memories that will be cherished forever. Though he was often admired as a ladies’ man, those closest to him knew him best as a loving and devoted family man.

Brandon’s bond with his twin sister, Brittany, was something special—deeply emotional and intuitive, they shared a connection that few could understand. He also had a profound and personal relationship with God. Brandon knew the Bible front to back and lived his life grounded in faith. His spirituality was a guiding force in his journey, and his respect and love for God were unwavering.

He is preceded in death by his; maternal great- grandparents, Charles Nicholson Sr. Henrietta Nicholson, Maternal Grandfather Charles Nicholson Jr; paternal great- grandparents, Margaret Coppage and Hular Jordan; paternal grandfather, James Obie Sr.; his beloved niece, Zariya Wasson, and his aunt Keyonnia Stephens.
