Brenda Joyce Miner

Brenda Joyce Miner was born on August 27, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana to her parents, Belzora “Mickey” Miner and Milton “Bill” Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Anthony James Miner.

Brenda received her education at Central High School. She attended Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted Christ and was Baptized on November 28, 2010. Brenda bartended at an early age. She loved to hang out with longtime friend LaVerne Wedlow (Cookie), other friends, socialize, and attend adult daycare. For years and mostly prior to her passing, she received help and support from her sisters, Tonya Tillman and Katrina Miner, who she loved and could always count on.

Brenda was forgiving, did not require much, and independently stubborn. She will always be remembered for her truth, Tamale Pie, hustle, remedies for everyday healing, and Spirit of Love for her family and friends.

Brenda passed away at her home unexpectedly Friday, May 26, 2023.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Donnie Ray Miner and Rodney E. Miner (Renee); grandchildren,  Anthony Miner, Jr., Sequoya Miner, Joshua Mullins (Dominique), Angel, Anna Miner, Donnie Miner, Jr. (Shina), Malik Miner, Tristan Derrickson, Finesse Miner, Rodney K. Miner, Jr., Rashaad Miner (Valerie), and Solomon Miner; brothers, Rickey Rogers (Vicki), Timothy Miner (Cassaundra), Michael Rogers (Linda), Thomas Rogers, Terry Rogers (Sarah) and Willie Miner III; sisters, Patsy Miner, Tonya Tilman (Robert), and Katrina Miner; nineteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 9, 2023,  visitation will be held from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. services will begin at 11 A.M. Services will be held at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th st., KCMO 64127.
