Brett Allen Dunham of Lee's Summit, Missouri, was born 11/15/1957 and died 4/11/2026.

Brett was preceeded in death by his parents, Helen LaFavour (Garrison) Dunham, and Robert Melvin Dunham.

Brett attended Lee's Summit High School and was a lifelong resident of his hometown.

As a younger man, Brett worked construction and enjoyed time as a shade tree mechanic, tinkering with automobiles, motorcycles, and anything that had an engine. Brett loved the children in his life and spending time with them. He was a funny, entertaining storyteller who never let the truth get in the way of a good tale. He loved his pets, especially his African Gray Parrot, Baby, teaching her much that will continue to remind us of Brett and his mother. Brett loved music and had a sharp memory, especially for lyrics being sung by his cousins at the family cabin. Brett loved the Garrison Homestead cabin and wished to spend his final days there. Brett was a loyal, devoted, and kind friend. He did everything he could to make their lives better. He did it without judgment and with all of the love in his heart.

Brett leaves behind a very large family.

His siblings and their spouses are Karen Cook of Kansas City; Dixie and Cliff Robinson of Wheatland, Missouri; Cathy and Jeff Nelson of Richmond, Missouri; James Champ and Marlene Dunham of Holt, Missouri; Lynn and David Slater Sr. of Calhoun yjs, Missouri; and Van and Anita Dunham of Hamilton, Missouri, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to name.

A private memorial to honor Brett will be scheduled at a later date.
