Bruce Charles Thomas, a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, who left this world far too soon on July 1, 2026, at the age of 24. Born on January 21, 2002, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Bruce was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. His infectious laughter and kind spirit touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of family and friends.

Bruce was the cherished son of Angel Thomas and the late Bruce Thomas. He was a devoted brother to Vinessa Lewis of Chicago, Ill., Gregory Rivera Jr. of Norfolk, VA, and Chadd Rivera of Kansas City, uncle, cousin, and friend who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. From a young age, Bruce was an energetic and curious soul, with a passion exploring life.

He graduated from Washington High School in 2020, where he not only excelled academically but also formed lifelong friendships that he held dear. Bruce had a love for basketball, a sport that not only kept him active but also served as a platform for him to mentor young children, teaching them not only the skills of the game but also valuable life lessons. His dedication to mentoring the youth was a testament to his generous and caring nature.

Bruce's career journey took him to Amazon, where he worked diligently for two years, and later to FedEx for a year.

Bruce was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed fishing, capturing life's moments through video, drawing, writing music, and, most importantly, making people laugh. His sense of humor and ability to find joy in the simplest of things brought happiness to all who were fortunate enough to be in his presence.

A service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services LLC, 2800 East 18th Street, KCMO 64127. The visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm, with the service to follow promptly at 3:00 pm.
