Cathy was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to parents William and Lois Braxton. Cathy accepted Christ at an early age at Plymouth United Church in Louisville.

Cathy attended Virginia Avenue Elementary School and Highland Junior High School. While attending Male High School, Cathy played the clarinet in the school band. After high school, Cathy joined the Air Force and came out with an honorable discharge.

Cathy moved to New Jersey as a caregiver for her mother and then to Kansas City, where she worked for several corporate companies as an executive secretary and manager. Cathy retired from the IRS, but not before receiving her degree in childhood education.

Cathy enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking from recipes, accomplishing home and décor projects, and helping to raise her nieces and nephews.

Cathy departed this life on December 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William Neal and Barry Lee Braxton.

She is survived by her sisters, Cynthia Ann and Dorothy Sue Braxton, and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
