Cherryl Burrill Richards was a gentle soul with a fierce heart — the kind of person who put everyone else’s needs before her own, not because she had to, but because she wanted to. At 70 years old, she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength that will never be forgotten.
She was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Family was everything to Cherryl, and she was the heart of ours. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters — and is now reunited with them in peace.
Cherryl is survived by her husband, Leonard Richards.
She is also survived by her sister, Judy Smith, and her brother, Ronnie Burrill. Her loving children carry her spirit forward:
Christopher DeVoid and his wife, Tamara, and their children, Cody, Tyler, and Victoria
Charlie DeVoid and his children, James and Adien
Denelle Martinez and her husband, Michael, and their children, Jacob, Amelia, and Isaac
She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren and a large extended family — so many loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness and warmth, far too many to name, but each one held a special place in her heart.
Cherryl had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. She was the person you called when you needed comfort, the one who made you laugh through tears, and the one who always showed up with love in her heart.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing her love will continue to ripple through generations. She taught us how to love, how to give, and how to care — and that is a legacy that will never fade.
Rest peacefully, Cherryl. You were, and always will be, deeply loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local charity or food bank in Cherryl’s honor — a reflection of her lifelong commitment to helping others.
