Cheyenne Lee Smith

Cheyenne Lee Smith was born on December 17, 2006, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Research Medical Center to Brandi Lynn Smith.
As a young girl, she attended Westview Elementary School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She attended Pleasant Lea Middle School and Lee’s Summit North High School.

Cheyenne enjoyed spending a lot of time with her younger sister, Candace, and her many friends. She also enjoyed playing soccer alongside her older brother, Jeremy, for Coach Steve and the Dragons.

After September 28, 2020, she enjoyed spending time with her baby brother, William, whom she loved to make giggle and laugh and bounce on the trampoline. William was the light in her eyes. He was her whole world; she loved that little boy as if he were her own child. She was also the parent of two fur babies, Keno and, most recently, BuddyLove, who was welcomed into her heart.
Cheyenne was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, John and Beverly Keyes, and Roy and Linda Smith, and grandparents, David Smith aka “Bawa,” and Patricia Smith.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory Brandi Smith, her mother; Charles Rice Jr., her stepfather; also Travis Gericke, stepfather; Jeremy Douglas Eiland Jr.; William Scott Gericke; Candace Lynn Smith, her sister; grandparents, Randy and Tammy Smith; half-brother, Roy Smith Jr.; half-sisters, Kayla Winters, Britney Smith, Lily Smith, Isabelle Smith; Jason Smith, her uncle; Lauren Smith, her aunt; her bonus dad, Sam Gerke; and her bonus aunt, Amanda Mereghetti; and the love of her life, Charlie Toler.

Cheyenne will be remembered as a young woman who could light up a room just by walking in. She had a big heart and always had a smile for everyone. She loved life and lived more life in her 18 1/2 years than some have lived in a lifetime.

There will be a memorial service held in Cheyenne’s honor on July 19 at 10 a.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. You are all welcome to arrive as early as 9:15. If you have any words or a short story you would like to share about Cheyenne, we ask you please keep it short so that everyone who wants to speak will have the opportunity. We will also be doing a celebration of life and a balloon release at a later date, which we will announce as the date gets close. Cheyenne Lee Smith “Chey Chey,” fly high baby girl!!!
