Christopher McDowell

Christopher L. McDowell was born on May 31, 1991, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John McDowell Jr. and Theresa McDowell. He graduated from Northeast High School in 2009 and continued his education at ITT Technical Institute, earning an Associate’s degree in Technology in 2011.

Chris worked as a machine operator at Happy Times T-shirt Company in Liberty, Missouri. On July 31, 2015, he married the love of his life, Marchelle McDowell. Together, they made their home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, where they shared many joyful moments.

Chris had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for his family. He especially enjoyed dancing with his nieces and playing video games with his godson. Surrounded by loved ones, Chris peacefully departed this life on August 5, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father, John McDowell Jr., and his grandparents , Steve & Patricia Morris. Chris leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marchelle McDowell (Lee’s Summit, MO); his mother, Theresa McDowell (Kansas City, MO); his brother, John McDowell III, affectionately known as “John Boy” (Excelsior Springs, MO); and his sisters, Catherine Villegas and Jessica McDowell (both of Kansas City, MO).

He is also remembered by his uncles Curtis Chambers (Independence, MO), John Collins McDowell (Kansas City, MO), and Mike McDowell (Kansas City, MO); his aunt Susie Stanley (Independence, MO); eight nieces, one nephew, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Chris will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
