Christopher Anthony Shinneman, 39, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 26, 2026. Chris was born on July 11, 1986, in North Carolina to Sherri Shinneman and Bradley Shinneman. He grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Park Hill South High School before continuing his education at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.

Chris built a career as a Server and Systems Administrator, where he combined technical skill with an enduring fascination for computers and emerging technology. Whether troubleshooting a complex problem or learning something new, he approached every challenge with sharp insight, patience, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

His interests reached far beyond his profession. Chris had a lifelong appreciation for law enforcement, enjoyed traveling and discovering new places, loved listening to music, and was endlessly intrigued by the changing world around him. He also volunteered as a Certified SKYWARN Storm Spotter, reflecting both his fascination with weather and his commitment to serving his community. Some of his happiest moments were spent with close friends and his beloved cat, whose companionship brought him great comfort.

Those who knew Chris will remember his quick wit, infectious laugh, and the ease with which he made people feel welcome. He had a remarkable ability to brighten a room, offering humor, encouragement, and a listening ear whenever it was needed. His generosity of spirit and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Sherri Shinneman. He is survived by his father, Bradley Shinneman; his brothers, Preston Cowling and Bradley Cowling Sr.; his sister, Sharron Shinneman; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will carry his memory with them always.

A visitation celebrating Christopher's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the outdoor shelter at Tiffany Hills Park, 9400 N. Congress Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64153.

Although Chris's life ended far too soon, the warmth he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless lives he touched will continue to live on in the memories of those who loved him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will endure in every story told, every smile he inspired, and every life made better by knowing him.
