Craig D. Washington was born August 28, 1984, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Kimberly Johnson and Gregory Evans.
Craig was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District.
Craig worked at Xpress Mart on Prospect, where he became a familiar and respected face in the neighborhood. He formed strong relationships with the people who came through the doors every day. Craig was known for feeding the homeless, offering help where he could, and looking out for the people around him, especially those who were struggling. He took pride in protecting the store and the community, often putting himself on the line to make sure everyone was safe. His presence alone brought comfort and familiarity to many who knew him. No matter what Craig faced personally, he always showed up for his people.
Craig lived a simple but meaningful life. He was known for his loyalty, his sense of humor, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved. He faced many challenges throughout his life, but he remained strong, resilient, and dedicated to the family that meant everything to him. His greatest accomplishments were the relationships he built, the love he gave, and the impact he made on those around him.
Craig was never married but was blessed with four children whom he loved deeply.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports (especially the Chiefs), playing video games, relaxing, and finding peace in the simple moments of life.
Craig departed this life on November 17, 2025.
He was preceded in death by several loved ones, including close relatives and friends who went before him.
Craig leaves to cherish his memory:His children, Cardierre Washington, Mi'Onna Cymone Harris, Jayceon Washington, and Amirius Washington; his parents, Kimberly Johnson and Gregory Evans; his step-parents, Anthony Payne and Charles Johnson; his grandparents, James and Delores Evans, Wilma Jones, and Richard Washington Sr.; his siblings, Tamara Washington, Kristina Payne, Teaira Payne, Angel Payne, Brandon Evans, Gregory Love, and Kierra Addison.
Craig also leaves behind his brothers from other mothers, Sylvester Halilmirton, Lester Halilmirton, Julius Irons, Anthony Simpson, Jeffrey Sherman, Tajmahr Sherman, Christian Barbosa, Larry Glenn, Marco Davis, Fredelle Kareem Taylor, Darron Finnell, and Michael Carney Jr.; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and family friends who loved him dearly.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 06, 2025 at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC, 2800 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO 64127. The service will begin at 3:00pm; there will be no visitation prior to the service.
