Daniel Louis Gale, 41, passed away on June 21st, 2025 at his residence in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born March 27, 1984, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was the son of Jerry Greenland and Loralee Frances Gale. After High School, Danny enlisted intoThe United States Army, following a proud family tradition of service. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and left a highly decorated soldier, receiving numerous medals: Iraq Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Army Commendation Medal, second award, Army Achievement Medal, third award. Army Good Conduct Medal, second award. National Defense Service Medal. Global War on Terrorism service medal. Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon second award. After almost nine years of active duty, he returned home.
Danny developed a passion for aquatic life, fishing, and grilling out, making his famous smoked brisket. In his free time, you could find him cheering on his beloved Kansas City Chiefs and rough housing with his beautiful son, Blake. Danny had a fierce love of animals. Kona and Slick were his canine companions until the end. Music played an intricate part in his life as well. Some of his favorite artists were, Guns & Roses, Marlyn Manson, Pantera, and Lil Peep.
Danny’s smile would light up even the darkest room.( I will always remember his blonde curly hair, emerald green eyes, and flower-like eyelashes. )
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Robert Greenland of Grand River, Iowa and Hazel Greenland of Des Moines, Iowa, Maternal Grandparents, George Gale of Des Moines, Iowa and Marlene Neff of Des Moines, Iowa. Two Aunts, Shelly Greenland and Lori (Greenland) Leonard, and an Uncle Gary Green of Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors include, his Partner of twelve years, Janelle Charland of Abilene, Kansas, son Blake Gale of Abilene, Kansas, Father Jerry Greenland of Wichita, Kansas, Mother Loralee Gale of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brothers Jake Marlnee of Latham, Kansas, Jared Burke of Ames, Iowa sisters Tricia Greenland of Peoria, Illinois Nore Townsley of Latham, Kansas JerriAnne Greenland of St Louis, Missouri, Aunts Diana Greenland of Des Moines, Iowa Eileen Greenland Des Moines Iowa, Rondelle Stephenson of West Des Moines, Ramona (Bruce) Gerber of San Diego, California, Val Gale of Des Moines, Iowa Becky Gale of Des Moines, Iowa One Uncle Robert Greenland of Des Moines, Iowa. Step Grandparents Steve and Rita Morse of Latham, Kansas, many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Memorials may be made to any Animal Rescue League or volunteering to help suicidal veterans in remembrance of Dan in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of life will take place in Des Moines, Iowa on August 31, 2025 from 2-6 PM.
