Celebrating the Life of Daniel M. Wilkinson

Daniel M. Wilkinson was born on January 17, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Monroe and Josephine Wilkinson. He attended the Kansas City, Missouri School District and graduated from Northeast High School in 1978. During his high school years, Daniel participated in ROTC and basketball, where he developed the strong character, dedication, and sense of camaraderie that would remain with him throughout his life.

Daniel had a lifelong passion for playing pool, attending wrestling matches like he did with his father, antiquing with his beloved wife, telling jokes, and making others laugh. He especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored deeply. Daniel also had a love for classic cars and always dreamed of restoring one someday. Surely, there is one waiting for him in Heaven.

After high school, Daniel worked at the Sears Distribution Center for fifteen years as a merchandise handler and deckman. Throughout his career, he also worked at Kohl’s Distribution Center, HQ, and Westlake Hardware. He was known as a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in providing for his family.

Daniel was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Odette Wilkinson, and together they shared thirty-six and a half wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Daniel departed this life on April 18, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Wilkinson; his mother, Josephine Wilkinson; and his sister, Rosemary Wilkinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Odette Wilkinson; his daughters, Alicia Randel and Heidi Larson (Steve); his sister, Debra Brady; his two grandsons, Jeff Frost and Tyler Frost; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and love.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Blue Springs Christian Church. Officiating the service will be Dave Ferneau on June 6, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
