In Loving Memory of Danny Hudson August 7, 1960 – August 19, 2025
Danny Hudson was born on August 7, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Sylvia and Cletus Hudson. A proud graduate of Newburg High School’s Class of 1978, Danny spent his early years exploring various jobs before finding his calling as a truck driver a profession he embraced with pride and dedication for the rest of his working life.
Danny’s journey was defined by love, laughter, and family. He was first married to Debbie Gillmore, with whom he had two sons: Shaun Lee Hudson and Christopher Lee Hudson. Later, he married Gail Bailey and welcomed two more sons: Daniel Jimmy Hudson and Daniel Jeffery Hudson. Eventually, Danny found love again with Maria Alvarez, who already had two children Fernando Arturo and Jacqueline Hernandez whom Danny embraced as his own.
Danny was a devoted father and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his children and ten grandchildren:
· From Shaun: Audrey, Aiden, and Avery
· From Chris: Kassy
· From Jimmy: Kaydance
· From Jeffery: Isabella, Torie, Alexis, Bridgett,
and Gage
Each grandchild carries a spark of Danny’s spirit—his humor, his heart, and his unmistakable zest for life.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia and Cletus Hudson, and his brother, Dale Hudson. He leaves behind a devoted family who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
He is also remembered by his siblings: Donald Hudson (Connie Johnson), Doreen Moore (the late Ricky Moore), and David Hudson (Donna Hudson), with whom he shared a lifetime of laughter, support, and unforgettable stories.
Danny passed away on August 19, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for the open road, and the deep bonds he formed with everyone around him. His life was a testament to resilience, joy, and the enduring strength of family.
Danny mastered the art of living and laughing loudly. He loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports, often coaching from the sidelines with the intensity of a Super Bowl commentator. If the KC Chiefs or St. Louis Cardinals were playing, you could bet the game was on, the volume was up, and Danny had a strong opinion ready to go.
Barbecuing wasn’t just a hobby it was Danny’s stage. He’d fire up the grill, crack a joke, and turn any gathering into a comedy show. His laugh could shake the walls, and his punchlines came with a guarantee of nonstop laughter.
His taste in music was classic: oldies, country, and the legendary Roy D. Mercer. Those cassette tapes weren’t just entertainment they were a full body workout from laughing so hard. If you heard laughter echoing through the truck or the house, odds were Danny was getting his laugh on and loving every second of it.
In his younger days, Danny played softball like he was auditioning for the majors and never missed the weekly basketball game at the old Newburg High School gym where trash talk was just part of the cardio. He loved camping and bike rides with family and friends, though his idea of “roughing it” always included coffee and donuts.
Speaking of which, Danny’s morning ritual was sacred: one cup of coffee and exactly four little white powdered donuts. Not three. Not five. Four. Any deviation was grounds for a full blown donut investigation and hostage negotiation.
Friday nights at Coachlight Lanes were his jam. He didn’t always bowl strikes, but he always struck up a good time. Danny lived with joy, laughed with gusto, and made sure every moment like every donut was sweet and satisfying.
