Dennis Madison Sanders Sr.

Dennis was born in Kansas City to Myrtle (Grayson) and Will Hernandaz Sanders and lived in Kansas City his entire life. Dennis was educated at Manual High School where he graduated in 1966. He was a welder by trade and worked at Agco for over 20 years. He later obtained his CDL certification and he was able to showcase his exceptional driving skills until he retired.

Dennis married his loving wife Georgetta in 1970. They were blessed with 2 children, Dennis Jr. and LaKeshia.

Dennis enjoyed fishing, hanging out with his friends, watching old western movies, and taking his grandsons to see WWE live anytime they were in Kansas City. Dennis was an avid bowler and a superb domino player. Dennis and Georgetta were married for 54 years. His wife remained by his side faithfully throughout their marriage. She was his constant source of love and strength. In his final chapter she cared for him with unwavering devotion, tending to his every need with grace, patience, and deep affection.

Dennis departed this life on May 9, 2025 with his daughter by his side when he took his last breath.

He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, his two brothers Leo Edward Sanders (Bud) and Henry Myers Sr. (Poncho), his uncles Prentice (Silverene) Sanders, Sam (Frances) Love, his favorite Aunt Oscarlene (Kitten) and her Husband Jesse Robinson Sr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted Wife, his Son and Daughter, his two Grandsons whom he adored Darius Steward and Dominic Thibodeaux, his sister Johnetta Sanders, his Nephew Galen O’Baner, His cousin Jesse Robinson Jr., his close friend of 52 years Myron Crawley (Popcorn) and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Community Fellowship, located at 3838 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64128. There will be no wake.
