Derrick was definitely the one to walk in a room with a huge smile, smelling good and looking good from head to toe like a million bucks. Always a new pair of sneakers for every outfit he wore. He worked hard for everything.

That is why this tragic situation has left all who knew and loved him in shock.

Derrick was born May 30, 2003, in Kansas City MO to Natalie Elder

Derrick spent his 22nd birthday in Houston Texas.

Derrick attended East High School

Derrick worked at Border Stars

Derrick loved basketball which he played for at Northeast Middle School

Derrick loved football his team was The Chiefs

Derrick loved to try different culture of foods

Derrick loved his family, friends and his fur babies Lena and Rylo

Trill is truly one of a kind. He touched so many lives he was always so thoughtful of others, loving, kindhearted and a respectful young man.

Trills Infectious smile, laugh and his grin we will never forget.

Derrick leaves behind his mother Natalie Elder, grandparents Kathy Elder, Jackie Hughes and Nellie Jordan his siblings Dimitri, Kobe, Armani, Madison, Corde Kingston and Micah.

his nephews Achilles and Kai his aunts Linda, Brenda and Trisha his uncle Matt his godmother Genevie and his god brothers Larry, Jazir, Jeffrey, Derrick, Jadakiss, Jaycee and Amario along with several other family and friends.

Death is not separate from life it is a part of life

We ask that you remember Trill for not the way his life ended but for the way he lived and the impact he made on all of us that had the pleasure of knowing him

what we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose memories are the timeless treasures of the heart

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC, 2800 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO 64127, . The visitation will begin at 2:00pm, the service will follow at 3:00pm.
