Edmond Sheldon Blackburn Jr.

Edmond S. Blackburn Jr. was born on March 17th, 1969, in Kansas City Mo to Edmond S. Blackburn Sr. & Cheryl Boos.

He graduated from Fort Osage Highschool in 1987 & Vatterott College.He served in the Air Force from Nov of 1987 to Oct of 1996.

He married Christi (KNOX) Blackburn on May 28th, 1988, they had 5 children. Joshua (Kelli) Blackburn, Amber (Kyle) Roper, Sheila (Krista) Blackburn, Daniel (Kaitlin) Blackburn, & Elizabeth (Ioakimo) Manuleleua & 5 grandchildren Ashton & Raenn Blackburn, Suzanna Roper, Brian & Lyra Blackburn.

And survived by sister Amy (Walt) Blackburn.He fought bladder cancer & colon cancer off and on for 11 years.He accomplished so many things. He was a Jr. Firefighter as a kid.He was a Disabled Veteran, an eagle scout, emt, electrician, volunteer firefighter, celebrate recovery leader, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Pastor/Overseer, papa’s tool shed bible study leader, an author, a biker & a very special Ed. He is loved and missed more than words can express.

He was so much more than all those things. He touched so many lives by all the amazing things he has done. He always shared what God had done for him in his life even while getting chemo treatments at the VA. His faith was so strong and he loved the Lord with all that he was. Now he is at rest with his Heavenly Father. Even through the struggles early on through fatherhood he grew to be an amazing father & Papa.A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday May 24th at Revive Church 9507 E Winner Road, Independence Mo, 64053.
