Elizabeth Ann Burkholder

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Burkholder, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 17, 2025, in Grandview, MO at the age of 78. Liz was born on March 11th, 1947, in Slater, MO. She lived a life filled with love, laughter and unwavering support for her family. Liz leaves behind a legacy of love, joy and kindness that will be cherished forever by her beloved family and friends.

Her love for baking and crafts was a treasured part of who she was. Each year, she was the heart of 'Cookie Day,' a beloved family tradition where generations gathered to bake and laugh together. She lovingly crafted wedding cakes for many of her family members, pouring her heart into every detail. Her creativity extended beyond the kitchen, as she also had a passion for crafting—leaving behind countless handmade keepsakes that will be adored for years to come.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Gloria and Leroy Miles and daughter, Diane Shoen. Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her husband of 45 years, Richard Burkholder, and her children: Carlene Tresnak, Stephen Dille (wife Tasha), Joey Burkholder (wife Jazmin), (son in law) Ed Shoen, and Connie (husband Phil). Grandkids: Savannah, David, Kayley, Jazmyn, Zack, McKinley and 5 great-grandchildren.A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified once arrangements have been made.
