Eugene Newton Daily

Eugene Newton “Gene” Daily, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Raytown, Missouri, on Labor Day, September 1, 2025.

Gene was born on July 6, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri. He lived a full and meaningful life and will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Gene was married to the love of his life, Linda Daily, for 48 years. Together they built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of love before Linda’s passing in December 2024.

He was the proud father of five sons: Jessie Daily of Raytown, Missouri; Rusty Daily of Lawrence, Kansas; Jerry Daily (deceased 2019); Dennis Daily of Waldo, Missouri; and Daniel Daily of Casper, Wyoming. Gene was also blessed with countless grandchildren who brought him immense joy. His family was the center of his world, and his love and guidance will continue to live on through them.

Throughout his life, Gene worked many different jobs, including at Woolworth, Roy Rogers, and Arby’s. No matter the work, he took pride in providing for his family and setting an example of dedication and perseverance.

Gene also had a lifelong love of animals, especially his dogs and cats, who were his faithful companions. He was an avid Kansas City sports fan, always cheering on his beloved Royals and Chiefs.

A small family service will be held in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter, humane society, or another meaningful cause.

Gene is now reunited with his beloved wife, Linda, and his son, Jerry. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
