Faith Elizabeth (Sturm) Long, 43, of Brownington, Missouri passed away, Thursday, May 22, 2025 surrounded by her Family at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Faith was born on August 12, 1981 to Richard and Brenda (Compton) Sturm in Nevada, Missouri. She grew up in several different cities/towns in Missouri, spending several years in Knox and Saline Counties, and visited family in Lewis County as often as possible. At the age of 16 she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. Through this struggle Faith became a force to reckon with and a strong fighter, attributes she showed all throughout her life, even in the last 2 weeks.
Faith was united in marriage with the love of her life, Daniel Long on May 14, 2016, and they had a beautiful, spitfire son, William Keith Long.
She is survived by her husband and their son of the home. She is also survived by her Mother-in-Law, Mary (Moree) Long of Brownington, MO; her sisters: Brenda (Jeremy) Clark of Green City, MO, Heather (Lucas) McCabe of Green City, MO; her brothers: Aaron Sturm of Brownington, MO and Kevin (Gillian) Sturm of Green City, MO; nephews & nieces: LillyAnn McCabe, Samuel McCabe, Lilliannna Wittom, Kaitlyn Clark, Richard Sturm, Coleman McCabe, and Cooper Clark; and many aunts, uncles and cousins of whom she was always close with. Also by the newest addition to the family, Skyleigh Rae Sturm.
Faith was preceded in death by all of her grandparents, both of her parents, her father-in-law Daniel Long Sr. , several aunts and uncles and a few cousins.
Faith and Dan settled in Brownington, Missouri, close to Dan’s parents. Faith enjoyed being able to homeschool their son William and teach him not only general education, but also homesteading and basic life knowledge. She would spend her days taking care of her chickens, plants, and creating content for her podcast, Blades in Paradise . Faith also very much enjoyed researching the history and ancestry of both hers and Dan’s families, playing fantasy role playing games, bonfires, and talking to and spending time with her family and friends. Faith was very fond of her nieces and nephews and always happy when they visited. She was a beautiful soul who will be missed greatly.
A private celebration of life will be held for the family at a later time.
