Gary Wyatt

Gary Bernell Wyatt (71) Born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 30th 1954 to Bernell Wyatt and Dorothy Wyatt. He was third to their ten children.

Gary attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and graduated from both Manuel Vocational Tech and Westport High School, which led to his career as a Master Machinist and a Master Pattern Maker with Fairbanks Morse Pump. He was one of the best, only one percent of machinist ever finish certification to become a Master Pattern Maker. He later retired after over 40 years of employment with Fairbanks.

Gary accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament and St. Monica’s Parish.

Gary loved and devoted his life to the wellbeing and care of his family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Gary had a wide variety of hobbies such as playing dominoes, bowling, basketball, chess, roller skating, and watching western movies. He was an excellent wood craftsman and loved giving his creations to his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, seafood, barbeque, and filet mignon were a few of his favorites.

He met his life partner Cleaster Harris in 1982 at Fairbanks Morse Pump and they went on to raise three wonderful children together.

Gary was a very loving and giving person. He loved to see others succeed and was always willing to do whatever he could to help. He was more than happy to share his wisdom, knowledge and experiences. Gary was a man of few words but when he did talk all would listen for his words of wisdom, humor, or encouragement.

Gary departed this life on April 16th 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his father Bernell Wyatt, mother Dorothy Wyatt, brother Steven Wyatt, sister Valerie Evans, and his lifelong companion Cleaster Harris.
