Obituary

Gladys Redmond was born on November 3, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Isaac Redmond Sr. and Margie Dozier. From an early age, Gladys demonstrated a caring spirit, a strong sense of faith, and a deep love for her family, qualities that defined her throughout her life.

Gladys received her education at Northeast High School. She dedicated much of her life to serving others in meaningful and selfless ways. She had a heart for caring for the sick and took pride in helping those in need. Gladys also provided transportation for her church through Connections to Success, ensuring that others could attend services and remain connected to their faith community. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, and her commitment to serving God guided her daily life.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Theodis Marshall, Irene Hearing, Debra Marshall, Ennis Marshall, and Sheila Redmond, as well as her beloved son, Jasper Redmond.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memory her three brothers, Paxton Marshall, Terry Redmond, and Victor Redmond. She was also blessed through her siblings with her nephews, Donté Gurley and Earl Marshall, who held a special place in her heart.

Gladys was a devoted mother and was blessed with four children, Roena Ray (Billy), Roy Redmond, William Washington, and the late Jasper Redmond. Her love for her children was boundless, and she found great joy in nurturing and supporting them.

In addition to her children, Gladys was blessed with nine grandchildren, Allisiya Vaughn, Jaylen Bradley, Taniyan Washington, Jeremiah Bradley, Ramir Redmond, Cameron Redmond, Jace Redmond, Carter Redmond, and Taneia Washington. She cherished her role as a grandmother and delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, often picking them up for weekends filled with love, laughter, and memorable moments.

Gladys had a vibrant personality and enjoyed many activities that reflected her joyful spirit. She loved speed racing, dancing, listening to gospel music, joking with family and friends, volunteering, and inviting others to church. Her laughter, humor, and warm presence brought joy to those around her.One of Gladys’ favorite quotes before driving was, “May God be the Pilot and I be the Co-Pilot.” This saying reflected the faith she carried throughout her life. She trusted God to guide her every step of the way, and now, having completed her earthly journey, she rests peacefully knowing that He has guided her safely home to heaven.

Gladys Redmond will be remembered for her faith, compassion, humor, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness and unwavering trust in God.
