Gordon was born in December 1971 in Hyattsville, Maryland, to Neil and Carol Andersen.

He was educated at Oregon State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and later received a master’s degree in International Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Gordon began his professional career with the City of Corvallis, Oregon, working in the IT department. He later transitioned into manufacturing, working in IT at Tillamook Cheese before moving into management. Eventually, he served as a Manager at Bible League International. Gordon continued to advance his career as a Senior Project Manager, working at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory in Idaho, and was most recently hired to work in Kansas City at Honeywell.

While Gordon had many professional accomplishments, his greatest was placing his faith and trust in Jesus Christ (Yeshua) as his Lord and Savior. In his younger years, he spent time acting in community theater and was a cast member of Up With People, traveling internationally to perform and serve in community service projects. Gordon had a beautiful singing voice and was often asked to perform in church productions. He was also a member of the Master’s Men singing group, performing at nursing homes and Memorial Day events.

Gordon held a strong interest in firefighting and served eight years as a resident volunteer with the Corvallis Fire Department. His passion for emergency work continued through his certification in Emergency Wilderness First Aid.

Gordon met Robin in the late 1990s, and they were married in 2001. He became the dad of three children—Nichole, Megan, and Trevor. Gordon deeply enjoyed being a father, attending soccer games and dance team events, and taking tractor rides to pick pumpkins with Megan. He loved spending time with Trevor, playing games, including many challenging chess matches. Gordon never tired of helping his children with homework, caring for them when they were ill, teaching them how to drive, and always being there when they needed him. He proudly watched all three of his children graduate and was especially proud of Nichole and Trevor when they completed Navy Basic Training. His generosity toward them was constant, and being their dad was one of his greatest adventures. Later, Nichole blessed Gordon with four beautiful granddaughters, whom he cherished deeply.

Gordon loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping, and bike riding. He also enjoyed target practice, archery, and woodworking. He spent many days walking beaches collecting agates, bringing them home to polish in his tumbler. Gordon loved working in the yard, gardening, and landscaping, and he often bought flowering bushes for Robin. Both analytical and artistic, he also had a wonderful talent for calligraphy.

Gordon enjoyed food and took pleasure in learning how to smoke meats and make his own pizza dough. His smoked chicken was always a treat, and his “Gordo” specials were creative and memorable.

Gordon passed on January 6, 2026. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nichole. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Robin; his children, Megan and her husband, Mark, and Trevor and his wife, Cynthia; his parents, Carol Andersen and Neil and Phoebe Andersen; and his four granddaughters, Addison, Madelyn, Claira, and Brinley.
