Harold Rydell Carter was born on August 5, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri to Hal Carter and Thelma Carter.

Harold accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Emmanual Baptist Church.

Harold attended school in the Kansas City Public School District, including Northeast Senior High School.

Harold worked for Synder Supermarket for 20 years, where to worked as a stocker, cashier, and worked in the meat department, Harold also trained to be an over the road truck driver.

Harold had a special friend Linda Elder of 28 years.

Harold departed this life January 20, 2026, at St. Lukes Hospital. He was preceded in death by; both parents, one sister Sherri Lewis, and Brandon Elder ( Linda’s son).

He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters Sharon Scott (Ernest), Denise Grant, Iris Dorsey (Wayne), Lisa Lewis, Cassandra Carter, Jari Newson, Sharil Guthrie (Myron), Joyce Gant (James). Three brothers Randy Lewis, Leslie Lewis, Donald Jennings (Gloria), and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 07, 2026 at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC, 2800 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO 64127. The service will begin at 3:00pm, there will be no visitation prior to the service.
