Henry Jamal Sutherland (Molly) was born on November 3, 1972, in Kansas City, MO, to proud parents, Henry James Sutherland and Jimmie L. Blakey. He was the only son and youngest child of this union. Henry departed this life on Monday, September 14, 2026, at University Health in Kansas City, MO.

Henry attended Blenheim Elementary School, Southeast Jr. High School, and Southeast Sr. High School. During those years, he played golf with the Heart of America Junior Golf Club, baseball, and his first love, football. He graduated high school in 1990 and attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS. He worked as a certified forklift driver and machinist during his career.

At the tender age of five, Henry began attending St. James United Methodist Church and later joined it under the leadership of Reverend Emanuel Cleaver II. He was an acolyte and sang in the children’s and youth choirs. St. James was more than a place of worship; it was a spiritual home where he grew in faith, built lasting relationships, and shared in the church's life and fellowship.

Henry was a loving, funny, and caring person. He loved to debate and get his point across. He was the life of the party, and there was always a funny story at every family gathering. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Henry loved to travel and be around

family. A void has been left in our hearts. Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry J. Sutherland, and his son, Devon Durham. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Natasha Sutherland; caring and sweet mother, Jimmie L. Blakey (Cornel); four sisters, Renee Sutherland of KCMO;

Tara Christion of Oakland, CA; Christy Sutherland Matthews (Terry) of Memphis, TN; Serina Sutherland of Detroit, MI; four sons, Joshua, Jamal, and Jaylen Sutherland of KCMO; Christian Durham of Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Alyssia and Adriana Sutherland of KCMO; two grandsons, Jaxton Sutherland and Elijah Durham; three granddaughters, Ariane Morris, Ameera Sutherland, Amir Sutherland; two nieces, Christian and Taylor Matthews; three nephews, Anthony Christion (Chelsea), Malik Shannon, Schlander Grandison II; a special sister/cousin, April F. Sutherland, best friend of over 40 years, Carlton Glynn, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at St. James United Methodist Church, 5540 Wayne, KCMO 64110. The visitation will begin at 10:00-11:00 am, with the service to follow promptly at 11:00 am.

The interment will take place at XII Gate Memorial Gardens, 9500 Bannister Rd. KCMO 64134.
