Ivory Eugene-Lamar Poole Jr, affectionately known as JR, was born January 30, 2015, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Juamelia Hutton and Ivory Poole Sr. JR transitioned peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the age of 10.
JR attended Westridge, Linden West, and Benjamin Banneker Elementary Schools. He loved playing with his friends, gym class, and recess.
JR had a boundless passion for life, especially when it came to football and basketball. Whether he was tossing a ball in the yard, cheering on his favorite sports teams, or racing up and down the court with his brother, uncles, and friends, his energy was contagious. JR also enjoyed playing video games and going to church whenever he could. He was a true die hard CHIEFS fan.
JR adored his family. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, and an overall gentle kid. His hugs were warm, his smile was unforgettable, and his stories will live on forever.
JR leaves behind his sister Journee and two brothers Kevon (KJ) and GeRelle. The bond they shared with JR will never be broken. JR will live in their hearts forever and he will always be their big brother for life.
JR was preceded in death by his grandmother Cora Ann Hutton, grandfather James Flint Cooper Sr, great grandfather Ivory McGregor, great grandfather Clearence A. Hutton, and uncle Simmie James Hutton.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Juamelia Hutton, father Ivory Poole Sr, paternal grandparents Kathy Ray and Ivory Poole, great grandmothers Angela Smith and Dorothy Smith, great great grandmothers Loneva Hutton and Katherine Trent, aunts Markita Poole, Katrice Poole, Aeriyana Gilmore, Alonah Crittendon, uncles Jairus Poole, Xavier Ray, Lonndell Hutton, Eliekiem Cooper, great uncles Andric Poole (Kendra) and Isaac “Ike” Poole (Tiffani), great aunt Tia Poole, and a host of additional aunts, uncles, cousins, bonus moms, bonus siblings, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
JR’s light, laughter, and love touched everyone who knew him. Although his time on earth was brief, his impact will be remembered forever.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday December 13, 2025, visitation will be held from 12 P.M. - 1 P.M. with services beginning at 1 P.M. at Barker Memorial Cathedral of Praise Church of God In Christ 11404 E 47th St., Kansas City, Mo 64133.
