Jacqueline Delores Miller Washington, a devoted mother, loving wife, gifted musician, and faithful servant of God, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 73.

Born on January 2, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to Catherine and Walter Miller, Jacqueline was a woman of deep compassion, strong faith, and boundless creativity. She was united in marriage to Arthur Raymond Washington, with whom she shared more than 40 years of love and partnership before his passing in 2013. Together, they built a life centered on family, service, and music.

Jacqueline was the proud mother of Alexandria Stephanie Miller Washington and Joseph Miller Washington, who were the greatest joys of her life. She poured her heart into nurturing, guiding, and loving her children, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and perseverance.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Jacqueline carried her love of learning throughout her life. She was an avid reader, a devoted jazz enthusiast, and a passionate supporter of the arts. Music was both her calling and her ministry. For more than 30 years, she dedicated herself to directing children’s choirs at various Catholic churches, shaping young voices while nurturing young spirits. Her gift for music was matched only by her gift for encouraging others to discover their own.

Jacqueline will be remembered for her gentle spirit, infectious laugh, creative soul, and unwavering faith. She touched countless lives through her music, her generosity, and her quiet strength.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Raymond Washington, and her parents, Catherine and Walter Miller. She is survived by her children, Alexandria Stephanie Miller Washington and Joseph Miller Washington, along with extended family, cherished friends, and the many lives she blessed through her ministry and love of music.
