It is with deep affection and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jane Ruth Vereecke of Independence, MO, who passed on Saturday, June 27th, surrounded by her family. Jane was known by those closest to her as someone who loved to seek adventure in the great outdoors and found meaning in celebratory times with her family and loved ones.

Born April 1 st, 1955, at the United States Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to parents Vinyl Jenkins and Shirley Farrari, Jane found joy in traveling across the U.S as a young adult. Her personal history reached legendary heights with her kids, who hitchhiked from Florida to Kansas City, where, at one point, she found herself next to Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones for one leg of the trip.

After settling down to raise her young children in Belton, MO, she drew pleasure in working at one point as an ice-cream truck driver for income. In her leisure time, she found joy in fishing our Midwestern lakes and rivers, with her favorite place being the deep blue waters of Bennet

Spring, MO. She also loved to treat herself to “Jane’s Day” at the area casinos and cheering on her favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

She married in 1995 to husband Randy Vereecke, the love of her life. They were together for 31 years until her death. Jane was a devoted patriot of her country. Her family could expect to hear one of her favorite mottos during holidays and gatherings of “Happy Happy US US!” But her favorite thing in the world was to spend as much time later in life with her children and grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Vinyl Jenkins, Shirley Farrari, and her stepfather, Jeff Lawyer. She is survived by her husband, Randy Vereecke; and children: Crystal Ward,

Michael Brown, Jennifer Sommers, William Vereecke, Matthew Vereecke; Children-In-Law: Todd Ward, Rachelle Brown, Jeremy Miller, and Jade Morgan Thomas; and Grandchildren: Chyloh Ratterree, Garrett Ratterree, Colyn Hulbert, Mikayla Brown, Kye Odie Miller, Lydia Vereecke, Haleigh Migues, Dakota Migues, Kyla Migues, Kadin Lungsford; Great Grandchildren:

Brexton Hulbert, Brynley Hulbert, Matais Thomas, Neiko Livengood, Naomi Livengood. She also left behind her two fur-babies, Jewells and Wednesday.
