Obituary

Here is the text with punctuation, capitalization, spacing, and minor formatting corrected only. No wording or meaning has been changed.

Jennifer Galvin (fondly known as Aunt Fer Fer), born on June 12th, 1947, in South Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Jean Foss and Clifford H. Foss Jr.; her husband, Tom Galvin; and her brother, Clifford H. Foss III.

She is survived by her brother, David Foss (Michelle); her nieces and nephews; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, who all received their treasured and beautifully crocheted Aunt Fer Fer blanket!

A proud graduate of Southwest High School in Kansas City, she went on to earn the highest honor in Girl Scouts, the Curved Bar Award, a reflection of her leadership, perseverance, and commitment to excellence from an early age. She carried those same values of hard work and dedication throughout her life. For more than 25 years, she worked for Curtin Matheson Scientific (CMS), where she was respected for her reliability, kindness, and unwavering work ethic.

In her late 20’s, she was a cancer survivor back when chemotherapy was “experimental” and enjoyed 50 years being cancer-free until her recent new battle with liver cancer. You can find her name on the cancer survivors memorial on the Country Club Plaza.

She shared a loving life with her husband, Tom Galvin, and treasured every moment spent with her family.

She had a special love for cats and never missed a chance to dote on her furry companions, Beau Beau, Ember, and Missy. She relished her reputation as the neighborhood cat lady who never turned away a hungry stray cat and often found them loving homes.

Above all, she will be remembered for her deep love of family, her creativity, and her generous heart. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

She will be dearly missed.
