Jesse Dane Ashton Hill, 20, of Kansas City, Missouri, lost his battle to mental illness on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Jesse was born to Robert B. Hill and Janessa I. Blacketer on November 12, 2004.

He graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in May of 2023 and attended Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, where he obtained Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) and a Phlebotomist.

Jesse loved to cook and try different foods. He was able to take his cooking abilities from the home, to jobs like Steak and Shake and Hawaiian Bros. He also loved to serve his loved ones with his culinary creations, and they loved it just as much.

Jesse was an avid reader and loved to write stories. He even wrote some in his own language. He had a love of music and loved to sing and would light up any room with his wit and humor.

Jesse is preceded in death by his step-mother, Mischelle R. Hill, grandmother, Deana (Rethemeyer) King, grandfather, Robert L. Hill and great-grandfather Dean Rethemeyer.

Jesse is survived by his parents, Robert B. Hill and Janessa I. (Jeremey) Blacketer; His siblings, Abigail (Zachary) Boswell, Robert (Elena) Hill, Emily E. Hill, Leah A. Rainwater, Hallee M. Rainwater, Gabriel R. Rainwater, Danielle C. Rainwater, and Addison H. Rainwater; His grandparents, Ronnie L. King and Karen (Walt) Maris, Mary Rethemeyer. Jesse is also survived by his nephew, Robert D. Hill, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Jesse’s services will be held at Faith Community Church in Kansas City, Missouri on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Visitation will be at 5 p.m., with a service to follow at 6 p.m.
