Jimmy Hunt was born on May 10, 1951, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Prince Hunt and Odessa L. Brooks. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, step father Levi (Papa) L.V, and dear sister Evelyn Grines.

Jimmy was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri public school system. He later worked at The KC Metro, where he served with honor, dedication, and respect.

Jimmy was truly the life of the party. Wherever he went, there was always laughter, joy, and fun. He loved spending time with family and friends and simply enjoying life to the fullest. Jimmy was well known for his sense of humor, his storytelling, and being the “king of talking crap” a title he proudly carried with love and laughter.

Jimmy departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2026.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Nicole Hunt; his son, Jimmy Hunt; his grandsons, Joshua Cochran & Avery Hunt; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Prince (Elnora) Hunt and Levander Brooks; his sisters, Marilyn Brooks, Shirley Moore, and Carolyn Pickens; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Jimmy’s love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 05, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC, 2800 E. 18th St. Kansas City, MO 64127. Tho visitation will be held at 2:00pm, the service will follow at 3:00pm.
