In Loving Memory of John “Budda”
John “Budda” was a man who left an impression — the kind you didn’t forget once you met him. Known for his sharp wit, dry humor, and perfectly-timed sarcasm, John had a way of making people laugh even on their hardest days. Behind the jokes, however, was a deeply loyal, hardworking, and big-hearted man who cared fiercely for the people he loved.
John was born on March 22, 1961, in Country Club Hills, Illinois. He spent half of his life in Southeastern Wisconsin, a place he proudly called home, before spending his final two years in Topeka, Kansas. No matter where life took him, one thing never changed: his work ethic. John worked hard until the very end, believing deeply in earning your keep, standing by your word, and showing up for the people who mattered.
Family meant everything to him. He was married to his wife, Deone, who stood by his side through his life’s journey. John was a devoted and proud father to his daughter, Michaela, and took immense joy in her marriage to her husband, Jadon. He absolutely adored his granddaughter, Annabelle; who held a special place in his heart and brought him endless smiles and laughter.
To know John was to know someone who would speak honestly, stand firmly in his beliefs, and show up when it mattered most. He valued friendship, loyalty, and integrity, and he extended those values generously to others. The friendships he cultivated became an extension of his family and held great significance in his life.
John passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. His legacy lives on through the stories that make us laugh, the lessons he taught by example, and the love he gave so fiercely to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
