He proudly served his country in the United States Army. John was a family man first and foremost. He always put his family first and ensured that they were taken care of. Though he was a strong-willed man, he had a heart of gold in the love that he showed his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In his younger years, John was involved in men’s fastpitch softball and carried a deep love for the game even after retiring from playing. Whether on the field with his teammates or later cheering from the sidelines, softball always held a special place in his life.
He dedicated over 30 years of his life working at MHC Carrier, where his hard work, loyalty, and steady presence left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. After a long and fulfilling career, he retired at the age of 70, proud of the years he spent contributing to the success of the company and grateful for the friendships he made along the way.
John was an avid golfer. If he wasn’t sitting outside on the porch, people-watching, you can find him at the golf course. Golf was his happy place, and it was never just about the score; it was about the joy of the game and those he shared memories with.
Through all the connections that John created in his lifetime, he remained humble, kind, and generous. To John, there were no strangers, only friends he had not met yet. Once you met him, you were a friend for life. He will be remembered for his unwavering support of his family, his dedication to his community, and the warmth he brought to everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for the life lessons he gave to those he trusted, confined, and cared for.
