Katherine J. Davis (Washington), lovingly known as Kathy to her family and friends, was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and lifelong servant to children in need, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, at the age of 76. Born June 19, 1949, in Crenshaw, Mississippi to Rosie B & Hosea Ramsey Jr. Katherine later made her home in Kansas City, Missouri, where she spent the rest of her life. She dedicated over 40 years of her career to foster care, offering love, guidance, and stability to countless children. Her heart for service and compassion touched many lives and left a lasting impact on her community.

Katherine had a deep and abiding love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She found joy and strength in her faith and cherished the fellowship she shared with the women of her church.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Davis; her son, Rev. Anthony D. Washington (Tanya); and her daughters, Gwendolyn Davis, Ashley Colman, and Kami and her bonus daughter Marchand Jenkins (Damon). She also leaves behind two brothers, Michael Ramsey (Tina) and Willie Ramsey (Betty); one sister, Marilyn Isaac (Nathan); and many beloved grandchildren,Odyssie Jones ,Vannate Jones ,Kylies Rashing , Giovanni Richardson, Anthony Nimrod III, Malikah Mickens, Mason Mickens ,Melvin Mickens, Jamin Wilson, Jordan Washington and Joseph Washington; great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Rosie, father Hosea Jr., her brothers George C. Washington, Hosea (Gwen) Ramsey III, Jimmy L. Ramsey, Joseph R. (Jeanetta) Ramsey and sisters Madeline J. Ramsey, and Sharon D. Ramsey.

Katherine’s life was a living testimony of faith, compassion, and generosity. Her legacy will live on through all that she loved and served.

Services for Katherine will be held at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist located at 9201 Eastern Ave Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Memorial services will start at 1:00 pm and

Repast will follow at the same location.
