Kathleen Kay Clark (Matter)

Kathleen Clark came to Kansas City, MO on the words and music of a song by Wilbert Harrison at 17 and never left. She was born in Bellingham, WA in 1947 to Henry August Matter (d. 2010) and Ardyth E, Morisette (d. 1983) Kathy married Anthony Fisher (d. 1987) in 1965 and they had two beautiful daughters together, Kelly and Joelle (d. 2020). In addition to her daughters the love of her life was Roy Clark (d. 2021 ), a fireman. They enjoyed 35 years together and enjoyed many fishing trips and travels in their 5th wheel.

Kathy was known as an amazing cook, she was always writing down a new recipe to try, loving to cook for both family and friends during the holidays and any chance she could. She was an incredible home decorator and flower arranger back in the day. Her sense of color and style was extraordinary. She loved yard sales and antique store meandering to pick up items that would add value to her home. Kathy knew every secondhand store within 10 miles of her home! She was the best “Mimi” to all her grandchildren and nephews, she will always be remembered as saying “Come over here so I can pinch your butt!”

Kathy is survived by her remaining daughter Kelly (Andy) Culbertson of Butler, MO, Six grandchildren; Megan Wahaus, J. Daniel Parra, Shelby Doyal, Sterling Morello, Nikoli Morello, all from the Kansas City MO area, Jordan Doyal of Covington, KY, two great grandchildren; Treyson Fletcher of Massillon, OH and Joshua Doyal of Butler, MO. Also a sister Cheryl (Jim) Furr of Miami, FL, and four brothers Barry Matter (d. 2010), John Matter (d. 2024), Tony Matter of AZ, Jim Matter of MN. Along with her adopted daughters; Dawn (Paul) Carl and Katie (David) Guhr both of Kansas City, MO area.

A very special thank you to Katie Guhr who helped Kathy above and beyond what any friend would do.
