Ken Daniels, born October 15, 1980, in Leavenworth, Kansas at Munson Army Hospital, departed this life on December 16, 2025. He was the son of Lynne Phillips and Marty Daniels. Ken graduated from Van Horn High School with the Class of 1999 and continued his education at Graceland University and Lincoln University.
In 2008, Ken met the love of his life, Necole Rucks, while working at Sprint. They were united in marriage in 2013. Through their union, Ken was blessed with two bonus children, whom he loved and raised as his own. Together, they built a family grounded in love, commitment, and unity.
Ken was passionate about cultural education, mental wellness, and spiritual clarity. A devoted believer in Kemetic spirituality, he shared his knowledge widely, encouraging growth, balance, and understanding. His insight and guidance left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved granddaughter, who was the light of his life.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Kenneth E. Daniels; maternal grandfather, Robert E. Phillips; grandmother Isabell Gray, Rhonda Boutte; great-aunt, Gertrude Alioth; and cousin, Darreon Murray Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Necole Rucks-Daniels; bonus children, Abreyan Brown and Aiden Brown; and granddaughter, Lyrikal Brown. He is also survived by his mother, Lynne C. Phillips; father, Marty Daniels; stepfather, Derrick Carr (Verna); twin sister, Kismet Daniels; siblings, Kelli Carr, Katie Marron, Denzel Johnson, Danielle Johnson, and Sherita Taylor; grandmothers, Louvenia Phillips and Pearlie Daniels; uncles, Derek Phillips and Erick Carr (Dana Carr-Williams); aunts, Sheila Daniels, Karen Daniels, and Gail Brown-Stevenson; niece, Kennedi Daniels; and great-niece, Khloe Daniels. Ken is also survived by numerous cousins, including Rondy Brown Jr. (Chris), LeNesha Brown-Etheridge (Al), DeAnn Daniels, Kyndall Williams, Marlandis Hayes Sr. (Ashley), Marshay Berry (David), Devin Brown, Asia Brown, Randy Brown, Italy Brown, and Daijan Dixby; along with a host of additional relatives and friends who will forever remember his wisdom, spirit, and unwavering love.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 2800 E. 18th St., Kansas City, MO 64127. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
