Kimberly Ann
Gage(Paris)
January 14, 1956 – May 16, 2026
Kimberly Ann Gage, 70, of Independence, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 16, 2026. Kim was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 14, 1956, and remained a lifelong member of the Independence community. She graduated from Van Horn High School with the class of 1974.
On November 14, 1975, Kim married the love of her life, Dennis Gage. Together they built a life centered around family, friendship, and community over 50 years of marriage.
Kim was the mother of three boys. Much of family life revolved around sports, scouts, karate practices, and tournaments. Many hours were spent in folding chairs and bleachers supporting her children and later her grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Kim worked in many different roles and built lasting relationships everywhere she went. She worked for the Independence Examiner, a health room aide at Elm Grove Elementary, Glazer’s Midwest, the Department of Homeland Security, and later at NPB as an usher for concerts and sporting events.
Kim was known for her warm and motherly demeanor. Friends, coworkers, and family often spoke about the comfort, kindness, and support she brought to the people around her. To many, she became “Work Mom,” always ready with encouragement, conversation, or support when someone needed it.
Over the last several years, Kim faced many health challenges, but she continued moving forward with strength and determination, even in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Paris; brother, Mark Paris; father-and mother-in-law, Bob and Maggie Gage; and brother-in -law Jeff Gage.
She is survived by her husband Dennis Gage; her sons, Rob (Maile) Gage, Corey (Chrissy) Gage, and Brandon (Vanessa) Gage; her grandchildren, Kaela (Austan) Jones, Lea, Kellen, Ethan, Sophie, Ryleigh and Wesely; her great granddaughter, Marley; sisters-in-law, Cheri Geib and Angie Gage, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 21, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 6:30 PM. Summit Grove Community of Christ, 411 S Lee’s Summit Rd, Independence, MO 64050.
Kim’s family will remember her for her caring heart, resilience, sense of humor, and the love she shared with everyone around her. She will be deeply missed.
