Kyle Tobin Lane was born on December 4, 1958, in Independence, Missouri, to the union of Elsworth and Mary Ann Lane. He departed this life after leaving behind a legacy rich in craftsmanship, individuality, and deep family bonds.
Kyle grew into a remarkably talented cabinet maker who was blessed with the ability to transform raw wood into pieces that were both beautiful and timeless. His steady hands, precise eye, and unwavering dedication to his craft set his work apart and made it unforgettable to all who admired it.
A man of many passions, Kyle was an avid coin collector who was fascinated by the stories and history behind each unique piece. He also held a lifelong love for Corvettes. He enjoyed collecting them, driving them, and embracing the sense of freedom and excitement they represented. Kyle was always drawn to joy, exploration, and adventure.
He was also a dedicated sports fan who proudly cheered for the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. His love for music brought him to countless concerts over the years, creating cherished memories surrounded by the bands and songs that meant the most to him.
Family was at the heart of Kyle’s world. He shared a close and enduring bond with his three sisters and two brothers. They grew up surrounded by loyalty, humor, and strong family traditions. Some of their most treasured moments were spent together at the Lake of the Ozarks, which became a beloved gathering place for relatives and lifelong friends.
Kyle became the proud father of two children, a son and a daughter, Cameron Lane and Danica Lane, whom he loved deeply in his own way. His life was full, real, and uniquely his. He brought dedication to his craft, passion to his hobbies, and love to his family. His legacy lives on in the work he created, the places he cherished, the collections he valued, the music he enjoyed, and the memories held by all who knew him.
Kyle is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchild, sisters and brothers, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, lifelong friends, and all those who loved him. Immediate surviving family includes his children Cameron Lane and spouse Theresa, Danica Lane and spouse Richard. His siblings include Rick Lane and spouse Rhonda, Dennis Lane and spouse Lori, Terry Johnson, Tammie Lane and spouse Dave, and Laurie Hays and spouse Jim. His grandchildren are Robert Jones, Whitney Jones, CaitLynn Nicholson and spouse Kelly, Ian Gilbert, Everly Lane, and Oliver Nicholson.
Although he will be deeply missed, Kyle’s spirit remains in every tradition, story, and moment he helped create.
