Lillie Virginia Franklin was born August 8 th , 1951 in Canfield, Arkansas to Floyd Sasser Sr & Virginia Sasser. Lillie’s love for family started early in her life. Being born into a big family would mold Lillie into the person that she was, a matriarch, a nurturer, a way maker and pillar of strength. When Lillie is remembered, she will be remembered for her love of cooking. Her favorite place was in a kitchen.
She made sure everyone around her was well fed. Her love for her family was unmeasurable. Her kids, grandkids & great grandkids were her world. Lillie was a lover of the outdoors, whether it was at the park Bar B Qing, fishing or camping this is where she loved to be. Lillie was a huge lover of Blues music& when it came on she would pop her fingers & dance dance dance!!
Lillie was joined in holy matrimony with Eugene Franklin Sr for 30 years. Lillie departed this life April 8 th , 2026 surrounded by the ones she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father & mother and 2 brothers: Floyd Sasser Jr & Leroy Sasser.
Lillie leaves to cherish her memories her children: Angela & James McDonald Sr, Tabitha Sasser, Erania McChester (Eugene Settles) and Albert III & Regena McChester
Her sisters: Betty Long, Marty Fernandez, Cynthia Sasser, Toni Brower, Nettie Nicholson, Lloydean Sasser & Brenda Washington
Her grandkids: James, Justin, Joshua, Patrick, Brandon, Orion, Kymani, Dre’Nisha, Evelyn, De’Lexus, Breoni, Tyanna & Tyriah
Her great grandkids: Joshay, Ja’Princia, Justice, Amora, King, Jakobe, Oaklyn, Jaylen, Joshua, Kassius,
Beileii, Jamilah, De’Aubri, Za’Riah, Josiah, Jaxon, Orion, Adrian, Khloe, Khylie & Kendall and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, loving caregiver & neighbors.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2026 at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Service, LLC, 2800 E. 18th St. Kansas City, Mo 64127. The visitation will begin at 2:00pm, the service will follow at 3:00pm.
