“If you obey all of the rules, you miss all of the fun

Linda Renee Caldwell was born January 9, 1968 in Kansas City, MO, the very last girl, child number five of seven, to George Caldwell and Lillian Young. She attended Northeast High School, but did not graduate due to her rebellious spirit; and skipping school was not uncommon. Ironically, she had dreams of being a school teacher, frequently mentioning her regret for not completing that dream. After years of trying to find a career that felt like home.

Linda was able to put her need to help others into action by becoming a Home Aide Tech, helping those who were no longer physically able to help themselves. She even continued to help others posthumously, saving a young woman’s life by being an organ donor.

The life of the party is what Linda was known as. She brought a good time no matter where she went. She attracted friends from all over because of her welcoming presence, alluring aura, charismatic energy, and slick witted personality. Linda was also known for being vociferous, even when she didn’t need to be; but one thing about Linda, she made sure you knew how she really felt.

Linda enjoyed watching Chiefs football, family BBQ’s, good music, Two-step dancing, playing Spades, and anything where she could be a social butterfly. Above all, her greatest pastime was surrounding herself with her eight grandchildren: Jeremiah Cox, E’Niylah Cox, Sounny Williams, E’Nahjah Cox, Juan Caldwell, E'Niylayjah Cox, Amiria Caldwell, and Sarai Caldwell. Nothing brought her more joy than to yell at those kids, and then shower them with love, especially the rowdy boys! Linda also really enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, a gift she inherited from her mother. No matter the occasion, she made sure to express her love through her food.

April 29, 2021, Linda was forced to experience pain that no parent should ever have to endure, losing her son Edwin Cox Jr. She tried to continue on with the normalcy of life, but it was no longer the same. The loss undoubtedly strengthened her faith, reviving her relationship with God. Linda always held a strong relationship with God, walking in faith daily. In her early twenties, she gave her life over to God and was baptized at her former Church home.

On February 4, 2026, Linda with the protection and guidance from her guardian angels, parents: George and Lillian; siblings: Marty, Margaret, Maurice, Derrick Sr., and John; and her children: Edwin Jr. and La’Gena Cox, transitioned in peace. Linda’s unwavering love and life lessons will be passed on through her daughters: Tiara Walker and Arionne Caldwell; her ancestry will be carried by her eight grandchildren; her lifetime of unforgettable memories will live through her siblings: Teresa, Anthony, Ruby, Mildred, Denise, Clyde, Betty, and Stanley; and the impact she had on so many people will continue to be nurtured by loved ones and friends. Linda shall be remembered by the way she lit up a room, spoke her mind without fear, and how affectionately she celebrated the ones around her whenever she could without hesitation.
