Linda Joyce Talbert was born on July 20, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was the second of ten children born, to the union of Clyde and Margaret Talbert. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and three  brothers, Maurice Talbert, Jeffrey Talbert, Jerome Talbert, and one nephew, Lonnell Talbert.

She attended Kansas City school district, and graduated from Paseo High School class of 1969. She earned her Associates Degree from  Penn Valley Community College in 1971. 

At an early age, she joined Macedonia Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Preston Allen, Sr.

Linda was very caring, and took care of her siblings. She had a lot of responsibilities, and taught her siblings a lot, dancing was one of her favorites things to teach.  She could not go anywhere without her siblings. She loved sports, and was very athletic.  Basketball, Volleyball, and Swimming were the sports she specialized in.  Linda played basketball throughout her High School and College years.  She loved to go bowling, and accomplished many trophies and awards.  Linda was very outgoing, and loved to party with her family. She loved the card game “Bid Whist”. She loved to dance and two-step. Linda was very family oriented.  She liked family gatherings and BBQ. She also loved to travel, and visit landmarks in other cities.  Coming from a musical family, she loved music. (Smokey Robinson was her favorite). Linda worked for the United States Postal Service for 33 years.  She worked as a mail clerk, a union steward, and became the First Female President of the Union.  She always cared for others, if anyone needed assistance, she would go out of her way to help each and every person.  Linda was a member of APWU Greater KC Golden Jazz Retirees at the time of her passing.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory forever, her son Michael Talbert, grandchildren, Micah Talbert, Andrew Talbert, and Mason Talbert and siblings, Clyde Talbert, Jr. Craig Talbert, Catherine Robertson, Marilyn Johnson (William), Carolyn Johnson, Zenobia Mondaine, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. A very special family friend Michael Green and Renita Scott, and numerous other relatives and friends.   

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 8, 2023, visitation will held from 8:30 am - 10:30 am with services beginning at 10:30 am. at Jamison Memorial Temple CME Church .

Internment : Mt. Moriah Cemetery
