Lisa Michelle
White(Hunter)
Dec 19, 1963 — Aug 13, 2026
Kansas City
Lisa M. White was born December 19, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Junette Hunter and Michael Massey. She was later lovingly adopted by James B. Hunter. Lisa accepted Christ at an early age.
A proud graduate of Sumner Academy of Arts and Science, Class of 1982, Lisa continued her studies in Psychology at St. Mary’s College. She dedicated more than 15 years to Elevance Health, most recently serving as a Utilization Medical Representative.
Lisa was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was fun-loving, humble, curious, and known for her warm smile and genuine spirit. She loved CNN, politics, current events, podcasts, and good conversation, and she was always ready to share her thoughts and laughter. Her family and friends will forever cherish those conversations and the joy she brought to their lives.
Lisa was united in Holy Matrimony with Alex White and was the loving mother of Javon Franklin and VaShaun White.
Lisa departed this life on August 13, 2026. She was preceded in death by her mother, Junette Hunter; her father, James B. Hunter; and her brother, Michael A. Hunter.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Javon Franklin (fiancée, Denita Fears) and VaShaun White (life partner, De Anne Coby); grandchildren, Ke'Shaun White and Daelani Mendez; sisters, Joe A. Hunter, Carmen K. Hunter, Kim Hunter, Toni Kinsey, and Yvette Jarjou; brothers, James Hunter Jr., Terry Hunter (Trina), and Brian Hunter; bonus sisters, Stacy D. Headd, Marilyn Pollard, Sherry Cade, Christy Cade, and Phelicia Stevenson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Lisa leaves behind more than memories. She leaves her love, laughter, and a piece of herself in everyone who knew and loved her. She was uniquely herself, and that is how we will remember her—with love, laughter, and a smile.
