Lucille Hudson, 61, passed away peacefully in her home on June 5, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on May 20, 1965, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Albert and Aretha Hudson. As the eldest of three children, Lucille embraced responsibility early in life, caring for her younger siblings with a natural warmth and devotion. She thrived throughout her youth, graduating from J.C. Harmon High School, where she delighted in talent shows and loved dressing up as her favorite musicians. Lucille began her professional journey at UMB Bank, where she built a respected career in banking. Colleagues remember her as a woman of unwavering integrity, a generous spirit, and a contagious zest for life. Her favorite getaway was Las Vegas—a city she dreamed of calling home. It was there she formed lifelong friendships with Kaye and Larry, relationships she cherished deeply and proudly shared with her family. A rocker at heart, Lucille lived life to the soundtrack of heavy riffs and classic anthems, especially from her favorite band, Slaughter. She dreamed of owning her own radio station in Las Vegas and treasured the day she first picked up a guitar at Vesely’s Music Inc. Music wasn’t just a hobby for her—it was a piece of her soul. Lucille believed wholeheartedly in treating every person as an equal. Guided by compassion and a profound sense of fairness, she carried a quiet strength that made others feel seen, heard, and valued. Her greatest dream was to become a mother, and she poured her nurturing spirit into every relationship she held dear. She was the kind of sister who listened with her whole heart, offering comfort without judgment. Her faith was deep and unwavering. She didn’t simply believe in a higher power—she trusted it completely. That trust gave her a peace that radiated to those around her. We find comfort knowing that her faith has carried her home, where she is reunited with her beloved parents. Lucille leaves behind a legacy measured not in material wealth but in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and love. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister Dorothy; her brother Donnell; her cousins Shelia, Derrick, Edward, Henry, Annette, and Chip; her Uncle Roosevelt; and her close family and friends Toarey, Freddie, Alkesha, Larry and Kaye, Crystal, Ricky, Michael, Ms. Mary, Sharon, Raul, Pastor Star, Queen, Mundy, Celeste, Erica, Meiko, Ms. Saratha, Ms. Diana, Kevin and Stacy, Demiko, Alethea, along with many other relatives and friends.
