Magnolia Lindsey was born on October 26, 1929, to Johnnie and Ruby Jameson in Brenham, Texas. She attended R.T. Coles High School in Kansas City, Missouri.
Magnolia accepted Christ at an early age.
She later met and married John Lindsey in Kansas City, where they were blessed with four children.
Magnolia loved to cook and enjoyed getting her hair washed and curled with a pencil, just as she did for her mother. Every Sunday, she looked forward to having family and friends over for dinner and laughter.
She worked a total of 51 years, 6 months, and 17 days—never once complaining. Magnolia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She showed the same dedication to her employer, taking pride in going to work every day and always being on time.
Magnolia departed this life on April 26, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Jameson; mother, Ruby Nolan; husband, John Lindsey; sister, Faydell Baker; son, John Lindsey Jr.; and grandsons, Charles Lindsey and Terry Lindsey.
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and forty grandchildren: Rose Lindsey-Wright (Solomon), Kimberly Lindsey, and Jackie Banks. Grandchildren: Jerry Lindsey, Anthony Lindsey, Ebony Banks, Terra Banks, Mireya Samuels, Maria Samuels, Eric Lindsey (Leticia). Great-grandchildren: Terry Lindsey, Tra'Von Lindsey, Ta'Quan Lindsey, Tierra Brown, Ke'Terria Lindsey-Faceson, Ter'Keese Lindsey, Ter'Keeha Lindsey, Keleeah Lindsey, Te'Ron Lindsey, Kaylee Leitzel, Brooklyn Lindsey, Zoe Lindsey, Shane Lindsey, Gabriel Lindsey, Erie’Ana Lindsey, Danielle Lindsey, Gabrielle Lindsey, Chazz Lindsey, Efrem Banks, Demylo Douglas, Jachai Douglas, Cashsha Jenkins, Devion Thompson, Tavier Taylor, Enyce Ricks. Great-great-grandchildren: Ah'Rhema Lindsey, Jaylen Lindsey, Aniellie Poole, Kali Ridgell, Tahir Lamar Lee Darkis, Jerico Paulsen, Emani'Rae Banks, DelReke Banks, and a host of cousins, nieces, and friends.
